Criminal authorities tell us that one of the best ways to protect yourself and your home from intruders may also be the least costly. This strategy is so unorthodox that many people dismiss it! But even so, crime fighting professionals tell us it works and can be used in many areas to enhance home protection.

Here it is–it’s very simple; go to the local thrift store and purchase a very large pair of worn out work boots and place them on the front door step of your home. It seems that the would-be intruders often correlate the immense size of these boots with physical toughness, and as you can imagine, criminals would rather move on to another house than risk a run-in with a tough guy.

The Bible tells us that we have an adversary who wants to do Christians harm. It is the ultimate game plan of this enemy to destroy as many as possible. We’re told that this foe is like a “roaring lion…seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). In short, without divine protection we’d be consumed.

But God has a better plan. We’re loved and God wants us to have a good life here, and in the hereafter. Because of the precious promises in the Bible, we can be assured that the Almighty One will always be nearby to care for us no matter what we are going through.

Today might bring hardship, fear, or uneasiness in your life, but take heart. The protection that your God brings to your situation is even better than a pair of worn out work boots on your door step. That protection is constant if you have placed yourself within the Lord’s care!
