Done

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30

A friend convinced me to participate to the spartan race. It’s an obstacle course race. You have to jump over things, carry heavy stones, crawl under things… Their motto is : “You’ll know at the finish line”. That race is very demanding and challenging. The race looks impossible to complete from the starting line. Therefore, the sense of accomplishment is amazing at the finish line. Now, imagine for one second yourself at the end of an extremely hard race looking back and thinking : it’s done…

Jesus died at the cross and said: It is finished. What was finished? Jesus was not referring to the moral law. He was not saying that the 10 commandments were done away but that his mission, his race on earth for the salvation of man was complete, accomplished. He kept the requirements of the law yet without sin (Heb 4:15). Jesus never abandoned or declared that it was too hard… He never felt that postponing or that taking a break was an option. Isaiah 53 lists some of his obstacles: rejection, grief, sorrows, he was smitten, afflicted and despised. Jesus experimented exhaustion, tiredness and hunger. At the end of his earthly race the demonstration was made that His motives were always pure and that He is love (Luke 2:34,35). No one gave Him a medal or a prize on earth… But in heaven, he was highly exalted! As we are racing on earth, He is leading us, coaching us, so that we too can complete the race and be winners just like Him. Let us stay and persevere in the race to meet our heavenly coach at the finish line who will congratulate us with these words:” well done, good and faithful servants”.

Better living also had a race… We had to record 52 shows : 26 in english and 26 in french. It is with great joy that we can now say: it’s done! We would like to thank in a special way Joel (host) and Lyne (volunteer) Tremblay who played a major role in the french recordings of Conviction. We also would like to thank you for your prayers. Thank you to all the volunteers who made the recordings a reality. May God richly bless you all.

Move: It’s official, Better living has a new address. God made it possible for us to move in a property close to the local seventh day adventist church in St-Georges. We would like to thank in a special way the Victoriaville seventh day adventist church for their prayers, their counsels. their warmth and their support. We are sad to leave this loving community. May God continue to bless you. Let’s continue to work faithfully until we meet again.  Now we have to plan the move… Please pray that the transition goes smoothly. Contact us if you want to help.

Holiday season:
The Better living ministry (multimedia training school staff, the missionaries, the volunteers and supporters) would like to take the opportunity to wish you happy holidays.
