On Social Media – Meet the team
Recently, Better Living Ministry has started to communicate more via social media. That way more people can follow as we post updates about recent news and activities. In May, we started creating an album called “Meet the Team”. It gives a chance for everyone to get to know the people at Better Living. So far we have presented four happy and enthusiastic team members. Meet the team today on our Facebook page.
Filming in Ottawa for It Is Written Canada
At the end of May we partnered with It Is Written Canada at the Nepean Sportsplex in Ottawa, Ontario for our first on the road production this year. We were looking forward to a ten-day production that would cover eight meetings presenter by pastor Chris Holland. After six hours in the car we arrived in Ottawa. We were very grateful to bring eight team members to help us in the production.
Pastor Chris Holland, speaker/director of It Is Written Canada, presented two identical Bible seminars every evening except Thursday. Pastor Holland has been spreading the Gospel message through TV for many years and beautifully presented each topic to the listeners in the hall. It was encouraging to see the local churches and Bible workers active in reaching Ottawa and letting local residents know about the meetings.
Better Living Ministry streamed the seminars live to the public. Streaming live added some excitement and sometimes some stress to the productions. If you would like to watch the seminars presented by pastor Chris Holland visit the It Is Written Canada YouTube channel.
The last day of the meetings took place on Sabbath where a number people chose to follow Jesus as pastor Chris Holland made the appeal. The highlight of the week was when more than 25 people gave their lives to Jesus through baptism. We are grateful for having been part of this event and look forward to more opportunities to sharing Christ through media.
During our first Sabbath in Ottawa we had the chance to share with one of the local churches about our media missionary program. Wayne, Frida and Laurie shared and the congregation watched our promotional video for the training program. We continue that the Lord will send us enthusiastic young people to get equipped. You can help us spread the word about this training opportunity to family, friends and even to your local church by reviewing the information available here.
Thank you and à bientôt, Danielle
Better Living Ministry has been blessed to have Danielle Noël offering her time and help to the work in reaching the French-speaking part of the world. Last year she decided to take a year off from her regular work as a nurse to work for the Lord. A big part of that time was spent with us and we were truly blessed by her presence. Among many things, Danielle participated in our youth program “Conviction” as coordinator, script writer, panel participant, camera operator and video editor. She also recorded the book “Steps to Christ” as an audiobook in french as a tool for sharing. You can read about this in a separate article here. It was sad to see her go back to her regular work, as planned. We wish her God’s blessings and guidance for the future.
Scholarship for Media Missionary Program
Better Living Ministry is passionate about training young people in media evangelism. 2014 marked the start of the Media Missionary Program in Québec, Canada. With a handful of enthusiastic young people the first year equipped them to use media in God’s service. This year’s 9-month program starts on September 8, 2015. There is currently one full scholarship available for an applicant to participate in the program. Contact us today as space is limited.
The Media Missionary Program offered by Better Living Ministry teaches young people how to spread the Gospel message through media. The training includes classroom style teaching, lab training, exercises and hands-on work. It takes place in Saint-Georges de Beauce, Quebec, Canada from September 2015 to June 2016.
All Things New
It is beautiful to see nature and the garden come to life and grow this time of year. After a long winter in Québec, May is the month when grass and leaves turn green. The birds sing their sweet songs. Nature turns from the coldness of winter to the beauty of spring. This reminds me of a time when God will do something similar, but on a much larger scale. Listen to what God is telling us in Revelation 21:5. “Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”” What a wonderful promise He has given us here! Don’t you long to be part of this spectacular event in time? To be a child of the King and Creator of the Universe and inherit His kingdom. I pray that you will. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” May God bless you.
